I earned a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1987 from the University of Arizona, A Bachelor's degree in Social Science in 1982. I was a counselor for about 15 years and I suffered from an eating disorder for 15 years along with alcohol and some drug abuse. It has been 22 years since I have been addicted to anything. I attribute this at the beginning to the 12 Steps originated by Alcoholics Anonymous, but moreso to the technique in my new book, Freeing Unconditional Love: Unchaining Your True Self. I wanted to be happy and I wanted to be in control of when I felt that happiness. I didn't want that control to be determined by anything outside of myself.
